Resetting an Employee's Password
NOTE: Only administrators are able to access the User Info tab required to change an employee’s password. If you are not an administrator and need an employee password reset, please contact one of your iReportSource administrators or the iReportSource support team.
From your dashboard, click on Employees
NOTE: This list will show employees based on the group you clicked to enter your dashboard. To see all employees, make sure you click on the company/division at the top of your page after logging in.
2. Locate the employee you’d like to reset the password for by filtering the list by either Group/Establishment, first/last name, employeeID, or username.
3. Click the row for the employee you’d like to edit:
4 . Click on the User Info tab:
5. Click Reset Password and the password for that user will be reset to the default password.
NOTE: The default password can take two possible forms: A short, concise password that has been set by your company’s account owner, or a string of random characters.
NOTE: If you are seeing the string of characters and would like the default password to be changed to something else, please contact your company’s account owner, or the iReportSource customer success team.
6. The password is now reset and should be communicated with the user using company IT approved Best Practices involving passwords.
NOTE: iReportSource does provide a means for the Admin user to communicate a password change with a user through the use of the Resend ‘Welcome Notification’ to User button. This will send a secure email to the user with their credentials so long as the user has an email associated with their account.
7. It is recommended that the user who just had their password reset change the password to something more personal, as the default password is meant to be temporary. Please encourage users to practice password best practices!
A guide for changing one’s password can be found here.
